Hard Drives

Seagate hard drives continue to evolve as consumers and businesses require increased data access speeds and expanded storage capabilities. Recent technological advances include the use of high anisotropy iron-platinum platters and heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) to increase the density of stored data while preserving the stability of data bits. HAMR read/write heads heat small sections of the platter while data is written, and then cool them to ensure safe storage.

The delicate nature of hard drives, particularly newer models with advanced technological features, means that even the most incidental bumps or drops can cause serious damage or data loss. Head crashes are by far the most common hard drive failure. They occur when the read/write head fails to move just above the platter, or when blunt trauma has forced the head against the platter. In each case, you’re likely to hear clicking or grinding sounds and should immediately power down your drive.

Secure Data Recovery conducts all its recovery operations in secure labs that have certified Class 10 ISO 4 cleanrooms to prevent any additional damage to delicate HDD components from dust particles in the air. Our facilities also undergo SSAE 18 SOC 1, 2 & 3 auditing to ensure maximum data security and confidentiality. Our expert technicians have decades of combined experience recovering lost data from failed hard drives and provide full support for all interfaces, capacities, and Seagate HDD models including:

Solid-State Drives

Solid-state drives hold certain advantages over HDD devices. They have no internal moving parts, so they are more resistant to physical shocks. Memory is stored in semiconductor cells rather than on sectors of a platter. SSD devices also run faster and more quietly than HDD devices. But they can and do fail, and users may need professional data recovery services as a result of rapid voltage or power changes, logical errors, normal aging, RAW Bit Error Rates (RBER) and Bad Blocks.

Secure Data Recovery’s expert developers create custom utilities to meet the complexities of recovering data from SSD devices. In addition to issues with TRIM control, “garbage collection” and wear leveling, SSDs often require delicate chip soldering and the repair or replacement of failed drive controllers. Our technicians specialize in advanced data recovery services on all Seagate SSD devices including:

  • One Touch SSD
  • Ultra Touch SSD

RAID & NAS Systems

Seagate’s enterprise storage solutions include new advances in high-density drive arrays with Autonomous Drive Regeneration, Seagate Secure™ self-encrypting technology and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) support. But Seagate’s sophisticated mass storage technology still relies on individual HDD and SSD drives, which are prone to common logical and physical failures that require professional data recovery services. Our RAID experts specialize in custom data recovery solutions for any failure on:
