Do not run data recovery software; commercial file utilities can overwrite your data and significantly reduce your chances of a successful recovery.

I was super nervous sending my hard drive in for data recovery, as I had never screwed up bad enough to need it before, but everything worked out amazingly. My rep was Alec and he was absolutely amazing to work with. He was very patient with me, and answered all of my dumb questions. The folks at SDR were able to recover all of the data I was hoping to get back, and shipped it back extremely quickly. Hopefully I won't need to use a data recovery service again, but if I do I'll go with SDR (and probably ask for Alec again).

Mitchell and his team did a great job from start to finish. When my local tech people said 5+ years of data was lost, I was shocked. These same people said any data recovery would cost several thousand dollars. As it turns out--Secure Data Recovery got ALL my data back, in less than two weeks, and for just under $1K. Great job, and very professional and responsive throughout. They even made my most important file available to me in advance of the rest of my data...

  • Great experience-- So relieved!

My experience with Secure Data Recovery was excellent! I worked with Mitchell and he was professional, prompt, and extremely helpful. I nearly panicked when my drive wasn't reading. I did the expedited process which only took a few days. I work in the wedding video industry so the projects on that drive were pretty much on fire. I instantly got my drive back the following week and was able to get all of my work done. Oh, and the biggest thing was that the drive was recovered EXACTLY in tact- every file was recovered and in their original folders. That was really important to me because there were literally hundreds of video files on that drive- it would have been terrible to have to actually put them into their respective folders. I hope I never have to do another drive recovery- but if that does happen I know I'll go back to Mitchell and the team again. Thanks!

  • Quality Service

    Reviewed on Aug 5 2016

I recently had the misfortune of having my hard-drive crash. After going through my own diagnosis process of swapping out the hard-drive cable in my Macbook Pro, I quickly realized that the issue resided in the hard-drive itself, not the cable. It's a sinking feeling when you realize, through your own ignorance and idiocy, that you have lost all of your data because you never bothered to back up any of your files.

Admittedly, the files I had on my laptop were nothing of great importance, but they were my files and I really did not want to cut my ties and lose all the music, Word documents, pictures, etc. I weighed my options and began searching Google for any indication on what I could possibly do now. Secure Data Recovery was one of the top results when I typed in 'hard-drive recovery'. The only reason I chose them over another service was because one of their locations was nearby to my house and they offered a free price quote.

I drove to the location, handed over my drive, and they assured me it would be sent out for diagnostics immediately. The next day I received an e-mail from a Secure Data Recovery account representative, Jeremy Provchy notifying me that they received the drive and would begin the process of diagnosing it.

Jeremy, throughout the whole process, kept me up to speed about what was happening and where they were in the process of recovery. Within a day or two he explained that Secure Data Recovery examined the drive and found the issue to be damaged heads on the drive, but that a full recovery seemed "highly possible". I was optimistic. Unfortunately, with the case of a damaged drive the needs the data recovered from it, the cost is never cheap. I knew this going in, but held out hope that it wouldn't be as much as I feared; yet it was.

I explained to Jeremy I would think about it, but that the files on board my hard-drive really were not worth that sort of money to me. He quickly got to work on providing me another option that could save me some money, if I were interested, the only downfall being that it would take longer. I thought about it, and the more I speculated on it I realized I did want my files back. I agreed to move forward with the recovery. Jeremy moved quickly with moving forward and providing me with a timetable as well as answering any questions I had. He really was extremely helpful!

Once I got my recovered drive back I quickly found everything right where I left it. From what I can tell everything was recovered, hardly anything was misplaced or corrupted in any way. I'm very pleased with the service Secure Data Recovery provided me with. If all of their representatives are like Jeremy Provchy, you can fully expect a prompt, efficient, and friendly experience. All of my questions were answered and most importantly my hard-drive was recovered.

Hopefully you never have to go through having to have a drive recovered, but if you do I HIGHLY recommend Secure Data Recovery for their excellent service.

  • Amazed

    Reviewed on Jun 28 2016

I was SUPER skeptical with data recovery services, since I had never used one before. I had lost access to roughly 200gb of client files on an internal SATA drive. I tried several top software recovery apps, but none worked. After doing a little research on them, I contacted SDR. All reviews I had seen were really good, and they have a great rating with the BBB.

I decided to move forward, even thought I still wasn't convinced that recovery was possible. I was really concerned that THEIR definition of a successful recovery would be different than mine. I was worried that maybe they would recover only *some* files, or that they would recover all files, but without the folder structure intact. In my case, I absolutely needed the entire folder structure, not just the files.

To make a short story even shorter, my rep (Alec Sakenes) guided me through the process, which was fast and straight forward. He assured and REASSURED me that if I wasn't satisfied with the files they recover, that I wouldn't have to pay for it. In the end SDR recovered ALL of my files, in the original folder structure. They sent me a new drive which was virtually a clone of the one I lost. This all happened in about a week's time. I was truly amazed.

Thank you SDR for your awesome service!

I can't say enough about the speed and quality of customer service with Alec. At each step of the process, I received an email from him. Responses to my emails to him were returned promptly, almost always within the same day. A small amount of my data was corrupted, but it was a 99.7% successful recovery. Obviously, I learned a valuable lesson about using cloud or other backup media. But if I am ever in this situation again, (heaven forbid!), I am happy to know that Secure Data Recovery Services are in business.

Treating customers/clients the way Alec treated me is invaluable. Because of the way he handled our interactions over the phone and via email, I feel a level of trust in Alec that will ensure I come running back to SDRS in the (unfortunate) event I find myself in a similar situation again. I've already passed his information on to countless colleagues, singing his (and the SDRS's technicians) praises.

While I highly recommend the entirety of Secure Data Recovery Services, I also highly recommend you intentionally seek out Alec Sakenes as your Dedicated Account Representative!

I got the call that an executive dropped his drive and Alec Sakenes was able to setup shipment quickly. I am very impressed with the service and the prices weren't too bad. (yes it does cost alot compared to a new hard drive but I know how complicated it is to recover data from a damaged drive) Will be using these guys again!!!
